Frequently asked questions

Do I need to give my name or contact details to see quotes?

The quote comparison tool requires only six pieces of information: your gender, date of birth, your health status in your own words, whether you use tobacco, the coverage amount you want, and the term length. These six answers are enough to return carrier rates from more than a dozen companies. Your name, address, phone number and detailed health history are only collected if you select a quote and choose to apply.

Are the monthly prices shown the price I will pay?

The prices displayed are the rates that each carrier quotes for the underwriting class you selected when you took the quiz. Your final premium after underwriting may confirm that class, improve you to a better class, or place you in a different one. Quotes shown here are estimates for information only and are not an offer of coverage, a guarantee of a rate, or a promise of acceptance.

What happens when I click Apply?

When you pick a quote and choose to apply, you provide your name and the application prefills with the answers you gave the quote tool, then moves to a secure form run on the carriers' application platform. You can start, stop, and resume whenever you want, and you sign electronically. Susman Insurance Agency, a licensed California insurance agency (License 0B75129), handles the application.

Will I need a medical exam?

Whether you need an exam depends on which carrier you choose, the coverage amount, and your health answers. Many carriers now offer accelerated underwriting that skips the exam for applicants under certain age and amount limits; each quote you see will show whether an exam is required, possibly required, or not needed for that specific product.

Is a longer term better?

Pick the term that covers your obligation. If you want protection while a mortgage is being paid off, until your children finish school, or while a business loan is outstanding, a term that ends when that obligation ends is a good match. Longer terms cost more per month but lock your rate for more years. The quote tool lets you compare 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 year terms from all carriers at once.

Does this site sell my information?

No. The quote tool does not ask for your name, phone, or email. We do not sell visitor information, do not share it, and do not use advertising trackers. Our analytics are cookieless. Read the privacy policy for the complete list of what is collected and by whom.
