No-exam life insurance

Explore who's eligible for speedy underwriting, the process behind it, and what to expect if you don't qualify.

Many insurers have launched accelerated underwriting for applicants inside specific age and coverage ceilings. They use your form answers, Rx history, DMV reports and comparable information to decide, bypassing the paramedical exam. Answers can arrive within hours. Every quote we show indicates whether an exam is needed, might be needed, or isn't needed for that particular offering.

What it changes

No exam doesn't mean no review. Your responses will be checked, and a plan sold based on false information can be rescinded within two years. If the insurer's records turn up concerns, they might still require testing; that's your choice to go forward.

Who tends to qualify

Generally, you qualify if you're under 60 or so, seeking an amount within the carrier's fast-track limits, have no significant medical history, and don't use tobacco (or quit over a year ago). Recent lab work from a doctor visit may substitute for the exam with some carriers.

Required exams typically take 20 to 30 minutes—conducted at home or your workplace in the Corona area at no expense to you. For healthy applicants, the results can actually bump you up a rate tier, so testing can work in your favor rather than against you.
